Dear Arnold,
Whenever I talk to people from other parts of Minnesota or other states, the same question inevitably arises. With furrowed brow or skeptical apprehension, the person asks, "How is it possible that Minnesotans elected Michele Bachmann?"
My answer: I don't know. Congresswoman Bachmann's notorious divisiveness and anything-for-a-headline ways cause many of us to shake our heads in disbelief. Her strident, consistent support for the special interests instead of her constituents is well-known. Bachmann is the definition of the lightening-rod politician that cares more about outrageous headlines than she does about actual results.
So, I have no idea why she's been elected.
But here's what I do know. If we wake up on November 3, and the headlines read, "Clark defeats self-proclaimed Tea Party leader," the entire country will change. The national narrative that says the forces of divisiveness and anger are overpowering those of community and reason will have been soundly rebuked. The idea that a conservative tide is somehow rolling into our country will be stopped.
Common sense will have won out over nonsense.
Hard work will have won out over headline grabbing.
Honest debate will have won out over partisan bomb-throwing.
If my wife Tarryl defeats Michele Bachmann today, it will be historic.
And you can say you were a part of making that happen.

Her strident, consistent support for the special interests instead of her constituents is well-known. Bachmann is the definition of the lightening-rod politician that cares more about outrageous headlines than she does about actual results.
So, I have no idea why she's been elected.
But here's what I do know. If we wake up on November 3, and the headlines read, "Clark defeats self-proclaimed Tea Party leader," the entire country will change. The national narrative that says the forces of divisiveness and anger are overpowering those of community and reason will have been soundly rebuked. The idea that a conservative tide is somehow rolling into our country will be stopped.
Common sense will have won out over nonsense.
Hard work will have won out over headline grabbing.
Honest debate will have won out over partisan bomb-throwing.
If my wife Tarryl defeats Michele Bachmann today, it will be historic.
And you can say you were a part of making that happen.

Dear Arnold,
Whenever I talk to people from other parts of Minnesota or other states, the same question inevitably arises. With furrowed brow or skeptical apprehension, the person asks, "How is it possible that Minnesotans elected Michele Bachmann?"
My answer: I don't know. Congresswoman Bachmann's notorious divisiveness and anything-for-a-headline ways cause many of us to shake our heads in disbelief. Her strident, consistent support for the special interests instead of her constituents is well-known. Bachmann is the definition of the lightening-rod politician that cares more about outrageous headlines than she does about actual results.

The cueless Democrats led by Bill Clition;get elected and and passthe federal reduction Plan; Wich raised taxes on the Rich 1 percent. The Republicansran aroundlike there hair was on fire predicting this
Would lead to a deep recession massive unemployment and huge deficts;the results were the greatest econonic expansiion in our nations history 22 Million new jobs createdand a budget surplus in Clintons last 3 years that resulted in the Democrats paying down 600 billionof your national debt .The American electate in an act of Stupidity that's about to be repeted rewarded the democtrats for eight yearsofpeace and prosperity.they gave them by going back to good old fashion Republican Incompenence and elect the second President Bush The countryand the world would pay dearly Under the econmic policies of president Bush 2 which includeda tax cut for the rich we had 2 Recessions two stock market crashes a collasp of thr financial systemand a doubling for the national debtand a lose of 657;ooo jobs

I'm writing to you today because you recently told us at AARP that you are active on Facebook and I was hoping you could help me get the word out about our election video (http://www.JackPhillipsForAmerica.com) and voter guide.
There's a lot at stake in this year's election, but too many political candidates are more focused on each other's personal lives than telling voters where they stand on REAL ISSUES facing our country. It's absurd! Though not as absurd as some of the ads...
Will you help me make sure everyone you know has access to where candidates in this year's election stand on critical issues facing our country by posting our funny "Jack Phillips attack video" – http://www.JackPhillipsForAmerica.com – to your Facebook page?
The future of our economy, the deficit, Medicare, Social Security, and access to health care have taken a backseat to personal attacks and partisan spin. But you can help make sure that voters you know get the real facts by helping us reach Facebook users across the country.
