Arnold --
It's time for Ethics Reform
Read my ethics plan and tell me what you think.
For too long, Rick Perry has put personal and political interests before the public interest. He's used state offices to create a self-serving, partisan political machine.
It's time we had a governor who puts Texans first.
This week, I'm rolling out my ethics plan in cities all over Texas. We will have a new approach to appointments, end Perry's infamous revolving door, and take measures to make more information available to the public.
Please read the details of my 8-point ethics plan and how it differs from Perry' practices, and let me know how you think we should clean up state government.
Here are some highlights:
* Appointments will be based on experience and ability to contribute to Texas, not politics or political contributions. Appointees' campaign contributions will be limited.
* The revolving door for lobbyists will be slammed shut.
* We'll open the books on the governor's pet funds -- including those he uses to fund his lavish travel and personal lifestyle. All of the governor's financial assets will be disclosed in a timely manner, instead of hidden in a so-called "blind" trust.
* The governor's office and state agencies will maintain and make accessible records that the public has a right to review.
Thank you for taking the time to review my Ethics Reform Plan and providing your feedback.
Please forward it to your friends and family who are interested in a governor who will put Texans first.
Respectfully,
Bill White
